Chief Security Officer of aerospace and national security contractor Sierra Nevada Corporation Robert Daugherty recognises the importance of secure code – and that failure is not an option when it comes to national security. After all, with a portfolio that includes electronic warfare, command and control, and mission systems, it can’t really afford to be.
“We use a counterintelligence mindset and operate with the assumption that a sophisticated nation state threat actor or insider threat is always active inside the organisation,” he tells the audience at the GitHub Universe 2023 conference today, while on a panel with GitHub CSO Mike Hanley and GitHub VP of Product Management Asha Chakrabarty.
