Job(s) of the Week: Group CISO, Monument Re, and...
They're based in Bermuda - you'll be based in London.
Who insures the insurers?
Often, it's Monument Re. The reinsurance business is looking for someone to become Group CISO as it continues a sweeping executive shakeup that recently saw it appoint a new Group CFO and a new Group Chief Underwriting Officer. We're making its Group CISO role The Stack’s latest Job of the Week.
Monument Re is a reinsurer and consolidator headquartered in Bermuda – Group CISO will be based in London and reporting to Group COO Tobias Fritsch, a veteran operator who recently joined the company from Allianz. (The firm also has offices in Ireland, the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy and Spain.)

The firm has been on a deals and buying spree lately, signing reinsurance agreements with Countrywide and Aviva, portfolio acquisitions from Integrale, AXA Belgium and Athora Ireland, and purchase of AME Life Lux. Monument Re is backed by Hannover Re, Enstar and E-L Financial, among others.
Post-M&A security can be a nightmare so this is one for those with a good appetite for a challenge: the new Group CISO will have to tackle the diverse security environments of the firm’s many acquisitions – and with seemingly many more to come. We’ve asked for a salary band for the role, but haven’t had any info on this as yet.
The successful candidate will need to “manage Security for the group and subsidiaries across different jurisdictions, entities with various levels of security posture” according to the job description. The new Monument Re Group CISO will also need the “ability to work under pressure at times in a M&A environment to balance cyber risk and allow for company expansion and growth”.
The ability to give expert guidance on compliance with regulatory body requirements, including central banks and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, is also a must-have for the Group CISO Monument Re.
And of course the new Group CISO will need the usual requirements, including industry qualifications such as CISSP, CISM or CISA, experience with NIST, ISO and CIS controls, and experience with cloud providers.

Our second Job of the Week is also in security, albeit at a very different scale and for a different organisation. The open source Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is seeking a part-time Program Manager to work in its recurity response team, saying the "main focus will be on the handling and organisation of the incoming security reports across our 300+ open source projects" (the focus and calm of a Jedi master may be required, but it's noble work.)
This is a remote, part-time position. The pay is $100k a year based on 30 hours a week.
It is remote position. The ASF is open to candidates in the US, Canada or Europe.
